radioff is not a radio station; it's an archival project designed to capture the progression of artists / creatives / dj's / producers / musicians / humans.
It is a temporary moment that is set up with the sole intent to capture 'the now'.
Anything that is captured lives on as an archive of that moment. Anything that is captured can be repurposed for anything your heart desires.
Do whatever you want with the capture - it's really up to you. The goal is to help people have more archives for later use.
my objective is to give creatives the resources to dream bigger, think bigger, and find support for their 'sound'.
ok, so wtf is radioff© actually and what does it mean for me?
i want to be in the next radioff session.It's a very simple concept: every eight to twelve months I take over an interesting space and transform it into 50% recording studio and 50% hang-out-and-mingle lounge.
The primary focus is a well-produced televised-radio recording that allows a music-adjacent creator to get a slot and share their sound (really you can be any creative doing as long as there is an audio track that is playing at some point).
The recordings are live streamed + archived and shared with all participants so that they have more media to use for their creative pursuits.
The world is moving to be content-first; in any pursuit be it personal, the arts, business, or whatever. I know how difficult it is to have a variety of well-shot and well-sounding content; especially when it comes to music. I wanted to change that. So I launched radioff.
Any artist who takes part will have access to the live recording and is able to utilize it in any way they want. There is no 'license' to the media. If you participate you can do whatever you want with it.
gotcha, when is the next radioff© session and how do i take part?
artist sign up form.the first public session took place on july 6 - 7th, 2024.
we're currently working on a new studio space so we can run more recordings, more often.
sessions will work in 60/90/120 minute chunks (up to artist request) and will run continuously from start to finish.
artists can invite as many people as they want to come hang out / watch / vibe and there will be refreshments and beverages available for sale.
the primary focus of the session is the live stream / recording so all who is invited is kindly asked to respect the space and all members who are involved.
so what does it cost?
i am building this on a donation basis with a minimum donation of $27 for the slot.
this is done to keep folks accountable to their bookings and to cover some of the costs of the space, equipment, etc.
this is a strictly not-for-profit project designed to give creatives the opportunity to have their mixes / live sets recorded and shared out with the world.
i am actively looking for sponsors, gear, etc. so if you want to participate in any way (maybe you want to run a popup for clothing, maybe you want to help record, maybe your a tech wizard and can help with audio/sound) just reach out.
it's that simple. i know how tough it can be to make money in the creative world. i aim to make this a stepping stone in your progression.
